We’re right next to Antamotamo (locals call it TamTam) — a charming fishing village that gives you a taste of real island life. Fresh fish for dinner? Just ask around and you’ll likely have the catch of the day at your doorstep.

  • HOW TO GET TO CAREFREE ON KOMBA? - you fly to Nosy Be airport Fascene, then book a transfer to Hellville to the Porto Ambarivato of small/petit port. From there you can book a transfer with a "special" boat - see details for Jimmy for all transfers (he is our preferred service provider), OR if you have a bit more time you can catch the local water taxi called "the collective" and ask them to drop you at Carefree on Komba next to TamTam (Antamotamo)

  • WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE POSSIBLE FROM CAREFREE ON KOMBA? - short beach walks, snorkel a short walk away, some local life "immersions" in the village next to us, walk to Ampangorina village (about 10km of trail, 4 hours), "easy" fishing....
  • WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFO ON EXCURSIONS? - you can ask Jimmy or book with Safari Baleine in Ampangorina - they will pick you up from our place. https://safaribaleine.com/ . Jimmy: +261 32 84 792 37. 
  • DO YOU OFFER FOOD OR WHERE CAN I GET FOOD? - you have to buy your food at the shops in Hell-ville, Nosy Be. Or when you book we can chat so we can do a shop for you. Note: in our village (and in fact all over Nosy Komba) you will only find a very limited selection of basics.
  • WHAT ARE YOUR BOOKING TERMS? - we request a deposit of 50% to secure the booking - via EFT and then you can pay the remaining 50% with either EFT, cash (Euro or Ariary) upon arrival. Deposit is refundable up to 2 weeks prior to arrival there-after not....
  • WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFO ABOUT NOSY BE? Here: https://www.nosybeofficial.com/
  • Note: Madagascar operates largely using cash, you can only pay by credit card at the big super markets in Hell-ville or fancy hotels.
  • DO YOU HAVE WIFI? - yes we have a Starlink unit, it is reliable and strong (usually)
  • DO YOU HAVE ELECTRICITY & WATER - EVEN HOT WATER? - we have a reasonably strong solar system (but note: you CANNOT operate a hairdryer), and we have delicious spring water in reasonable supply (but we use it carefully in dry season Jul-Nov). Hot water is available with a solar geyser so .... not 100% guaranteed.

Wake up to the sounds of the rolling waves, a stunning sunrise and a happy vibe. Room 1 has a queen size bed, white linen, a fan above the bed and inside the mosquito-net to keep you cool and relaxed.

The SALA (meaning little pavillion for entertainment) - is the perfect spot for early morning coffees while watching the glorious sunrise, or late afternoon sundowners... listening to the waves rolling or chillaxing with a book.

The kitchen is equipped with a small fridge, 3-plate gas-stove, pots, pans & utensils, cutlery , crockery, cups & glasses for 4 people. 

A table seating 4 and a stunning view completes the picture.

A spacious, comfortable (shared between room 1 & 2) bathroom with a shower, his-and-hers basin, bidet and toilet. Shower gel, bath towels and toilet paper are provided. And a cupboard to store your stuff (with safe).
